ABOUT US
Air Care Smog Test Center is your official State of California Licensed Smog and Repair Center and we are licensed by the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) to inspect and certify most vehicles. Our goal is to keep our customers satisfied by making this process easy and as quick as possible.
If your Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice says, “SMOG Certification Required,” or “SMOG Certification Required.” Air Care Smog And Repair is the right place to go to.
We provide official SMOG CHECK for all vehicles including trucks, SUVs, and Gross Polluters using our cutting edge BAR-97 Emission Inspection System (EIS) required by the State of California. The inspection includes a visual, functional, and tail-pipe emissions test. Certain vehicles emissions testing require the use of a dynamometer for Acceleration Simulation Mode (ASM) or loaded-mode test. The ASM simulates actual driving conditions and allows for more precise testing for CO, HC, and NOx–the three most harmful pollutants emitted by motor vehicles.
Attention Smog Check Customers—As of December 15, 2007, the State of California is now requiring a low-pressure test (LPFET) of your vehicle’s fuel evaporative control system (EVAP). Testing required on most model year vehicles 1976 through 1995. In addition to the state-required Smog Check, an additional fee is applied. Please check our services page for further information.
Once the SMOG CHECK is completed we will provide you a Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) which is also transmitted to the DMV for your vehicle records. If your vehicle passes, our system will automatically transmit your Smog Certificate to the DMV electronically – which saves you time.
